Back To School Greetings!

This year many of the students at Lincoln will have the opportunity to study music with a new music teacher.  Let me introduce myself.  I am an “old” new teacher here at Lincoln this year. My name is Mrs. Fox.  I have been teaching music in the district for 9 years, mostly at Roosevelt and Jefferson.  My husband and I have been living in Watertown with our two boys for 10 years.  I have a BS in elementary education with a minor in music and have just completed my masters degree in educational technology this summer.

This year I will be working with your child during the Wednesday music periods.  We will be learning about musical instruments of the orchestra and how they can be used to tell stories.  Our first story will be “Peter and the Wolf.”  The students will also have the opportunity to add instruments to accompany favorite stories of their own.  If you would like to keep up with what we are doing, you may view the lesson log on my website.

We will begin the year by getting to know each other.  Please help me to get to know your child by completing the student survey that is located on my website.  There is also a parent survey that I would like you to complete as well.  Please complete the surveys on my website if you have internet.  If you do not have access to the internet, please complete the form attached to this letter.

You may email me at Lori.Fox@k12.sd.us, call me at the school or home (753-7633) with any questions.

I look forward to working with your child through this unique opportunity.  Together we can make this an exciting and memorable experience.

Yours in music,

Mrs. Fox
