This year many of the students at Lincoln will have the opportunity to study music with a new music teacher.  Let me introduce myself.  I am an “old” new teacher here at Lincoln this year. My name is Mrs. Fox.  I have been teaching music in the district for 9 years, mostly at Roosevelt and Jefferson.  My husband and I have been living in Watertown with our two boys for 10 years.  I have a BS in elementary education with a minor in music and have just completed my masters degree in educational technology this summer.

This year I will be working with your child during the Wednesday music periods.  We will be learning about music by searching famous composers and using various technology tools.  Most of what we do will be done with a group project that should take us through the year.

We will begin the year by getting to know each other.  I would like your child to bring pictures and favorite items that can be used to share with the class.  These items will be shared on Wednesday, September 10.  The students will also be taking a survey that is located on my website.  There is also a parent survey that I would like you to complete as well.  Please complete the survey on my website if you have internet.  If you do not have access to the internet, please complete the form attached to this letter.

Since I will only see the students 2 times/month, I will be posting assignments and other information on my website.  There maybe times when I will need to have students complete part of the assignment as homework.  The classroom teachers have access to my site and will be reminding students of the assignments.  If you have questions, you may visit the site for information on assignments.  If you still have questions you may email me at Lori.Fox@k12.sd.us or call me at the school or home (753-7633).
