Lincoln 5th Grade Blog
Week 1:
August 27: This week was a get-to-know-you week in
class. I showed the students my personal time capsule as a
demonstration for what they will be doing the next few times we will be
meeting. We talked about the expectations of the class:
- Do your best
- Respect everyone and everything
- Make an effort not an excuse
- Work cooperatively
- Be a good example
- Expect a lot from yourself (not perfection just a honest effort)
- Excellence will be rewarded
I also had a chance to begin to learn all the new names and
faces. We sang the "Name Game" and I was able to put a name to
each student without looking at the class list by the end of
class. The next time I will see them will be September 7 and I am
sure I will need to have a little refresher by then. This will be an
on-going process but I will be working on it.

Week 2:
Many of the students were prepared for class with pictures and items
that they wished to include in their self-introducation movie.
There
are some who will still need to bring pictures or get them emailed to
me. We looked at how they would use their pictures. I gave
a short
demonstration of how to import their pictures, add titles, transitions
and music. It will be quite a while until our next music class so
the
students will have plenty of time to get pictures to me. Our next music
class will be Oct. 8.
